Echo Bat is built so it doesn't need to know anything about you. The TL;DR: no accounts, no ads, no tracking across apps. The iOS app sends nothing about you anywhere, except what's needed to process the one optional in-app purchase. The website uses Google Analytics to count visits.
What we collect
We don't ask for your name, email, location, contacts, or any personal information, and there is no account to create.
- In-app purchase (iOS only). Echo Bat is free; "Full Flight" is an optional one-time purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple. To confirm a purchase and restore it on another device, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives a random anonymous ID generated by the app, your purchase and transaction history for Echo Bat, and basic device info (model, OS version, country/storefront). It is not linked to your name or email and is not used for advertising.
- Website analytics (echobat.xyz only). The website uses Google Analytics to count visits and clicks on the App Store link. The iOS app does not load Google Analytics.
Data stored on your device
- Game progress. Your best runs, unlocked skins, streak and settings are saved in your browser's
localStorage(web) or in the app's sandbox (iOS). They never leave the device. - Motion permission state. iOS remembers whether you granted "Motion & Fitness" access to the app. That's an OS-level setting, controlled in Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness.
Clear browser storage, or delete and reinstall the app, to wipe your progress. A Full Flight purchase can be restored after a reinstall with "restore purchase" in the menu.
Permissions Echo Bat requests
- Motion (iOS) / Device Orientation (web). Optional. Used only to translate phone tilt into bat steering. The app works without it via touch zones.
- Notifications (iOS). Optional. One local evening reminder for the daily challenge, scheduled on your device.
Third parties
The website (echobat.xyz) is hosted on Vercel. The native iOS app is distributed through Apple's App Store and uses Apple Game Center for leaderboards if you're signed in. These providers receive standard logs (your IP address, the page or build you fetched, basic device info) when you connect to them. RevenueCat and Google Analytics are described above.
Children
Echo Bat doesn't ask anyone for personal information, regardless of age. The app is rated 4+ and is safe for children.
Changes
If we ever change this policy we'll bump the date at the top of the page. There's nothing to notify you about because we don't have your email — but the change history will live in the project's public GitHub repo.
